Melissa Goldsmith
Therapist & Certified Child Life Specialist
People often come to therapy during times of change—when life feels unsettled, overwhelming, or different than expected. Illness, loss, divorce, and other transitions can affect how we feel, how we relate to others, and how we move through our days. My work is about offering steady, thoughtful support during these moments and helping people feel less alone as they find their footing again.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Child Life Specialist with over two decades of experience working with adults, children, adolescents, and families. I earned my Master of Social Work from Columbia University in 2002 and have spent my career supporting people through periods of uncertainty, stress, and change.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded. I aim to create a space where adults can speak openly, children can express themselves in ways that feel natural, and families can better understand one another. I work with individuals navigating life transitions such as divorce, illness, caregiving, and emotional overwhelm, as well as with children, adolescents, and families adjusting to change.
Reaching out for support can feel like a big step. If you are considering therapy for yourself, your child, or your family, I welcome the opportunity to connect.
